The journey toward improved health is a commitment that extends beyond the gym. It’s about crafting a lifestyle where fitness and self-care coalesce, enhancing not only physical strength but overall well-being. In today's fast-paced world, achieving this balance is paramount. This guide, courtesy of H2O Easy, provides actionable insights to harmonize your fitness routine with self-care practices, ensuring you nurture your body, mind, and spirit effectively. Set Achievable Fitness Goals Your fitness journey should start with setting realistic goals that resonate with your lifestyle and well-being aspirations. For instance, if you're incorporating cardio into your routine, begin with short sessions on a high-quality recumbent exercise bike and gradually increase your time as your endurance improves. This approach ensures your objectives are motivating and achievable, fostering a sense of accomplishment without overwhelming your schedule. By tailoring these goals to fit your personal aspirations, you create a sustainable and fulfilling path toward health and fitness, one that promotes steady progress and prevents burnout. Tune Into Your Body Understanding and responding to your body’s cues is crucial for a balanced fitness regimen. If you experience discomfort or fatigue, it may be time to adjust your workout intensity or duration. This adaptability not only prevents injuries but also promotes a healthier, more sustainable approach to fitness. By prioritizing your body's needs, you create a routine that supports long-term health and well-being. Hydrate Properly Staying hydrated is essential for maintaining good health as it supports vital bodily functions, aids in digestion, and helps keep your skin rejuvenated. Water is fundamental to regulating body temperature, lubricating joints, and detoxifying the body through waste elimination. To ensure you’re drinking clean, healthy water, consider using Water Genie water filtration products from H2O Easy. These products provide a reliable solution for removing impurities and enhancing water structure and improving the taste of your drinking water, making it easier and more enjoyable to stay properly hydrated and healthy. Focus on Nutrition Nutrition plays a pivotal role in supporting your fitness goals and overall health. Opting for whole, nutrient-rich foods over processed snacks can significantly impact your energy levels and performance. Incorporating fruits and vegetables instead of reaching for sugary or salty snacks helps fuel your body more effectively, facilitating better results from your fitness efforts and contributing to your overall vitality. Diversify Your Routine A varied fitness regimen is key to maintaining interest and ensuring comprehensive health benefits. Integrating cardiovascular exercises, strength training, flexibility workouts, and mindfulness practices like yoga or tai chi keeps your routine engaging and holistic. This diversity not only combats workout monotony but also addresses all aspects of physical and mental health, making your fitness journey more enjoyable and effective. Use Your Amenities Taking advantage of your apartment's fitness amenities can significantly enhance your health and wellness. Facilities like a gym, swimming pool, or even a simple dedicated workout area encourage regular exercise and can be a convenient way to fit fitness into your daily routine. If your current living situation lacks these health-promoting features, it might be worth searching for a new apartment that includes them. Using an online search tool, you can easily filter your search by location, size, cost, and amenities to find the perfect place that aligns with your lifestyle and fitness goals. Embrace Stress Reduction Incorporating stress-reduction strategies into your routine is vital for a well-rounded approach to fitness and self-care. Techniques such as meditation, deep breathing exercises, and journaling can significantly enhance mental clarity and emotional resilience. These practices not only improve your fitness experience but also contribute to a sense of well-being and contentment in your daily life. Quality Sleep Is Essential Restorative sleep is a cornerstone of health, and crucial for recovery, performance, and overall well-being. Ensuring adequate and quality sleep supports physical repair, enhances mental function, and balances emotional health. By prioritizing sleep, you equip your body to handle the demands of your fitness routine and the challenges of daily life with greater resilience and vitality. Include Rest and Recovery Time Rest and recovery days are vital components of a balanced fitness routine, serving as the body's time to heal and strengthen after physical exertion. These days support muscle repair, reduce the risk of injury, and ensure that you can engage in your next workout with increased energy and reduced fatigue. Beyond physical benefits, they also offer mental respite, helping to prevent burnout and maintain motivation by providing an opportunity for mental relaxation and emotional rejuvenation. Build a Supportive Community Surrounding yourself with a supportive community can profoundly impact your fitness and self-care journey. Whether it’s friends with similar goals, a professional coach, or an online group, this network provides motivation, advice, and a sense of belonging. A supportive environment encourages consistency, celebrates progress, and offers guidance, making your journey toward health and wellness less solitary and more fulfilling. In weaving fitness and self-care into the fabric of your lifestyle, you create a path that transcends physical health, touching upon mental, emotional, and spiritual well-being. This holistic approach not only leads to a stronger, healthier body but also nurtures a sense of inner peace and contentment. Remember, the journey to wellness is not a race; it's a continuous journey of self-discovery and growth.

City water, well water ,spring water, it does not matter what your water source is, it likely contains dangerous levels of the chemical made famous by Erin Brockovich. Chromium-6 is everywhere!Follow the button link to learn more and see if you are one of the 251 million Americans drinking water with dangerous levels of the carcinogen.
Clean, crisp water – the source of life, is needed for a healthy body. It gives us better skin and helps us lose weight. It’ll quench our thirst faster than any juice or soda. Without a doubt, the value of water is unquestionable! To get clean water, you need to filter your water by installing a water filter system. In this article, we share 10 reasons why you need to install one whether for your home, rental property (providing habitable housing is one of landlord's responsibilities) or business. 1. Improved health and reduction in stress.Doctors recommend that we drink eight glasses of water every single day. Now, filtered water tastes way much better than tap water. This is essential because, unlike tap water, it isn't riddled with chlorine taste, sulfur and lead. So, if the water tastes sweet, you’ll likely have more every time you drink. researchers say that drinking more water is associated with reduced intakes of sugar, sodium and saturated fat. 2. Tastier and healthier food.Contaminants, minerals and other bacteria can change how food tastes. It’s also important to note that boiled water may still contain small amounts of harmful compounds. With a water filter, however, you can rest assured that your cooking water is free from most impurities. So, by installing a water filter system, you'll begin noticing an improved taste in your cooked food. This is especially true for foods that absorb water to reach their proper consistency, such as rice or pasta. 3. Increased gastrointestinal health.Filtered water doesn’t contain giardia and cryptosporidium. As such, you have greater protection against gastrointestinal diseases. Again, you can prevent diseases like amoebiasis and therefore maintain a good quality of life. Our digestive systems require good water volumes to prevent digestive issues like cramping, bloating, indigestion and constipation. 4. Possible reduction of cancer risks. In the U.S., most people are drinking water that is legally “safe” but isn’t actually risk-free. According to research, different types of carcinogens can be found in tap water. Cancer-elements found in tap water include: Disinfectant by-products · Industrial wastes · Harmful bacteria · Gasoline solvents To reduce the cancer risk, drink filtered water. 5. Filtered water removes chlorine.Chlorine and chloramine are used to kill microorganisms in tap water and keep it safe for drinking. Sadly, the two chemicals have their downsides as well, including negative impacts on sensitive pets and plants, cancerous bi-products and poor taste and odor. 6. Clean water is essential to humans.Whether we are using water for doing laundry, washing, rinsing foods, cooking, bathing, drinking or even brushing teeth, we need clean water to accomplish these tasks. Tap water travels through pipelines before it reaches our homes. Along the way, it collects waste particles, pesticides, mercury, lead, and fluorine compounds. 7. Reduced risk of possible birth defects in newborns.Did you know that water is vital to your unborn baby’s health? Filtered water helps remove dangerous nitrates found in the tap water that can have devastating effects on the fetal health. 8. Extended lifespan of your appliances and the home's plumbing system.Turns out something that is good for your health can also do good for your appliances as well. Common appliances that benefit from filtered water include: - Water heaters. The filtration of minerals results in a more efficient water heater. The water sent to kitchens, bathrooms, dishwashers and washing machines will be much less abrasive. - Dishwashers. Like washing machines, dishwashers using soft water will also benefit from less scale buildup and can more effectively clean dishes. - Washing machines. Washing machines that have filtered, softened water running through them actually make your cleaning products more effective. The reason for this is that filtering your water helps remove minerals that cause hard water. Hard water simply means that your water has a significant quantity of dissolved minerals contained in it. 9. Reduced carbon footprint.Carbon is a major issue in the world right now and is a global crisis. If you are serious about saving the environment, then try to cut down on buying bottled water and install a water filter system instead. A lot of people think that installing a water filtration system is costly, but actually, on the contrary, bottled water costs more. The amount of money spent on bottled water far exceeds the installation costs of a water filter. What’s more, once installed, no maintenance is necessary. 10. Savings on bottled water. We’re all trying to drink more water. It’s good for the skin, muscle recovery, digestion, metabolism, amongst other things. But, does it have to be costly? Well, bottled water surely is! The biggest marketing success story of all time is the bottled water industry. And, the industry is growing at an impressive speed. However, the quality of bottled water isn’t much higher than tap water. Besides, bottled water is expensive. According to the latest data available from the BMC, Americans spent a whopping $11.8 billion dollars on bottled water in 2012. The health benefits of drinking clean water are huge. That’s why it’s important you consider installing a water filter system. It’s an easier way to keep your water safe as well as improve its taste, smell and clarity.
You might be shocked at what could be living and growing in your water heater tank. Many homeowners neglect the maintenance task of flushing the water heater. In many conditions that may be less of a concern. That is definitely not the case for the residents living in the Buffalo Mountain community located in East Asheville, North Carolina. Approximately 187 residents of Buffalo Mountain are served by the community's well water system. Although the system operates within EPA drinking water standard (with some past exceptions) there are several violations of Federal regulation between 2014 & 2017. This is a more common scenario with small water system purveyors than is generally known to the public. I recently had the opportunity of assisting some long time residents of this community with replacing thier 10 year old water heater and installing a whole-house filtration system to correct unhealthy conditions. Upon draining and removing the water heater I was shocked to see what came out of the unit. Watch the video below and see for yourself! I collected samples of the different mineral deposits and unidentified objects that spewed from the tank In hopes performing further analysis. What is certain, is that residents of Buffalo Mountain need to be diligent about water heater maintenance, and should be concerned about what's in their water! NO ONE!
If I can offer one situation to best express my intention and desire it would be of an experience I had while vending at an environmental trade show in Raleigh, NC. I was at the event primarily to market water conservation products for a business I started in 2003; AquaPro Solutions llc. I had decided to display our H2O Easy water filtration products to help introduce the new WaterGenie to the regional market. I was approached by a middle aged woman from North Carolina named Kathy, inquiring about the capabilities of the WaterGenie. We'll not disclose the city in NC where she lived as I have no desire to enter into a liable suite with any municipality, but trust me it is a large city/county in the heart of NC. Our conversation began in a typical way but didn't stay that course for more than a couple minutes. Kathy was much more serious with her questioning than usual; It was clear that she had a sincere distrust. As I attempted to carry the conversation as sensitively as I could she became more open about her concerns. Kathy had experienced and lived through a devastating bout with breast cancer, and was continuing to experience health problems. She discovered that she had mercury toxicity. She had spent several months trying to determine the source of her exposure, which turned out to be the municipally treated water supply. As soon as this became evident she had her two young children and husband tested and all were found to have elevated levels of mercury. Kathy was certain this condition had caused her cancer and continuing health concerns. I was appalled to find out that she had attempted to seek assistance from the water purveyor and bring the problem to light but her concerns were dismissed by county officials; the municipality would not assume any liability for her condition or acknowledge in any way the water may contain high levels of Mercury; and furthered the insult indicated that she could choose not to drink the water! After about an hour of heartfelt communication I proposed to have an H2O Easy system installed in her home at no expense to her family until she decided the system performed to her satisfaction. She agreed, two weeks later I had performed the installation and after six months and several lab tests to verify the water quality, Kathy offered to pay for the system in full, including installation costs; which we declined to accept. Kathy and her family have sense moved out of state and purchased a new H2O Easy WaterGenie system for her new home. I often reflect on this experience, which continues to be an enduring reminder of why I do what I do, and why I will continue to do it as long as I can help others out of bad situations, like Kathy's. My advice; never take for granted that someone else is looking out for your best interests, and always remember, municipalities are businesses not people; they don't put your health and wellbeing ahead of their own unless it serves their purpose. They do what they do because the law requires them to; and most do the minimum they possibly can. This means using very dangerous chemicals rather than healthy alternatives because chemicals are the least expensive option available. It is up to you to take responsibility and be proactive when it comes to the food you eat and the water you drink, bathe in and cook with. I don't want you to trust me because I say you can, I want to earn your trust, gain your respect and deserve your business. That's the H2O Easy way. Sincerely, C. A. The US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has recently revised its public health advisory on acceptable levels of Perfluorooctane Sulfonate (PFOS) and Perfluorooctanoic Acid (PFOA) compounds in public water supplies. The advisory are significantly lower than standards the agency established in 2009 as 0.4 ppb for PFOA, and 0.2 ppb for PFOS. In drinking water systems where both compounds are present the advisory recommends a maximum combined level of 0.07 ppb. As a result of this updated advisory, dozens of communities around the country are now considered to have “dangerous drinking water”.
PFOS and PFOA are members of a group of chemicals known as PFCs (perfluorinated chemicals/compounds). Both PFOS and PFOA are very persistent in the environment, and have known health risks including several forms of cancer including kindey, thyroid and testicular cancer. The report also acknowledged research on human populations that has found associations between PFOS and immune suppression, thyroid disease, high cholesterol, and reduced fertility. It also acknowledged a possible connection between PFOS and bladder, colon, and prostate cancer. The levels released today are based on numerous studies connecting the chemicals with health effects. -For PFOS, the report notes, studies of lab animals exposed to the chemical reported “developmental effects (decreased body weight, survival, and increased serum glucose levels and insulin resistance in adult offspring), reproductive (mating behavior), liver toxicity (liver weight co-occurring with decreased cholesterol, hepatic steatosis), developmental neurotoxicity (altered spatial learning and memory), immune effects, and cancer (thyroid and liver).” -For PFOA, the research included studies on monkeys, rats, and mice showing “developmental effects (survival, body weight changes, reduced ossification, delays in eye opening, altered puberty, and retarded mammary gland development), liver toxicity (hypertrophy, necrosis, and effects on the metabolism and deposition of dietary lipids), kidney toxicity (weight), immune effects, and cancer (liver, testicular, and pancreatic).” The new health advisory for PFOA was also based on human studies, which showed “associations between PFOA exposure and high cholesterol, increased liver enzymes, decreased vaccination response, thyroid disorders, pregnancy-induced hypertension and preeclampsia, and cancer (testicular and kidney).” The EPA report noted that in humans “the developing fetus and newborn is particularly sensitive to PFOA-induced toxicity.” “Taken together,” the report notes, “the weight of evidence for human studies supports the conclusion that PFOA exposure is a human health hazard.” The exact phrasing was used in the PFOS report as well. The proprietary blending of NSF certified media in our H2O Easy WaterGenie products offers an effective filtering solution for PFOA & PFOS in drinking water. Thanks for visiting, C~ The LEAD contaminated water crisis in Flint Michigan is a horrific problem that could have been avoided. Whether it is determined to be the result of poor judgement or criminal neglect, the health effects will be lifelong for those poisoned by the water. Our thoughts and prayers go out to the victoms in Flint.
As scary as the circumstances of the Flint water contamination may be, the reality is, our environment is much more contaminated than we are told or want to believe. Levels of toxic chemicals, pesticides, heavy metals and pharmecuiticals in our atmosphere, soils, oceans and fresh water supplies have become so pervasive there is no place on earth that is not impacted. The water crisis in Flint Michigan is a warning sign that we all should heed. In fact if you search related news stories you will discover just how common poor water quality is in the U.S. Some of this toxicity is by design, not by accident. Chlorine and the byproducts of chlorination are known carcinogens, yet most municipalities use this toxic chemical to control bacterial contamination. Why would they do this? Just follow the money! Fluoride is poison! A known neurotoxin and endocrine disruptor, its damge to the body is proven and indesputable. Why do 70% of public water supplys include fluoridation? Just follow the money trail! How can you know your water is safe? Can you rely on the water purveyor for acurate, timly information about the quality of the water to your home? When was the last time you had your well or spring water sampled and anylized? When was the home you live in built? Have you purchased faucets online from sources outside the US? The truth is, the only way you can be sure of the water quality in your home is by controling the water at point of entry and points of use. I began developing filtration systems as a means of creating an effective, affordable solution that was customized to the water conditions in the Western North Carolina area; specifically Asheville municipal water. Despite having some of the purest freshwater reseviors in the world, by the time this water gets to your faucets, it is contaminated; in many ways and for many reason. Some of Asheville's water distribution system is 100 years old, and laydened with sediments which harbor bacteria, some of which are not efected by the chlorination process used by Asheville Water Authority. There are hunderds of mies of piping old enough to still have lead packed joints. In fact, several years ago as I was excavating near the water meter at my home in West Asheville, I exposed the water meter service tap line which connects the meter to the city water line. I was horrified to discover the tap line was lead piping. Asheville's water maintenance department responded very quickly to my discovery and complaint by replacing the tap the next day. Installation of Lead piping was common until the 1930s when installation was discontinued by most municipalities. But that doesnt mean those lead pipes aren't still in use. If your home was built before 1940 there is a high probabilty that the water service line connecting your water meter to the municipal system will be lead. To make things more concerning there is a good chance that Asheville will loose control of it water resources to the state of NC. Upon establishing this precident the state will likely pursue privitization of its water systems. What has occured in Flint Michigan will become far more commonplace as water purveyors become privitized, for proffit businesses. The time to take control of your water quality is now! CAH
